Ls23l sequence analysis12/16/2023 Drops of impacted courses after theLS23L Winter 2015 Syllabus Revised Decemsecond week will carry a transcript notation of the week of the drop. Impacted courses may be dropped on or before Friday of the second week through URSA with no transcript notation. IMPACTED COURSE POLICY FOR ACADEMIC YEAR LS23L is an impacted course. Concurrent enrollment in LS3, “Introduction to Molecular Biology”. There will be a multiple-choice final during finals week. Do not plan to leave section early! In addition, students are required to review online materials before laboratory and complete a quiz based on the laboratory manual. All sections will take the entire time allotted. LS23L students must participate in one three-hour laboratory session per week. Students will learn to write a proper scientific research paper by writing three papers over the course of the quarter and receiving detailed feedback. Please note: this course contains a significant writing component. Undergraduate students will work in groups of three conducting experiments in the areas of physiology, metabolism, cell biology, molecular biology, genotyping and bioinformatics. This course has a one-hour online reading assignment/quiz and three hours of laboratory research each week (for a total of 4 hours per week). LS23L offers the opportunity to conduct wet-lab and cutting-edge bioinformatics laboratory experiments. INTRODUCTION This course is an introductory life sciences laboratory designed for undergraduate students. Chem 14C is an enforced prerequisite for LS23L and LS3.
